God always lives in our hearts

A Short History

Our Savior's Lutheran church was founded in 1885 under the name of the First Norwegian Lutheran Church.  In 1896 a portion of the congregation formed the Evangelical Trinity Lutheran Church.  The two churches sat side by side until in 1918, they once again became one and was renamed Our Savior's Lutheran Church .  Melo was part of the First Norwegian Lutheran congregation that was included in pastoral call.

Construction of a new church building was approved in 1950.  The new building was finished in 1951, with an education wing added in 1968.

Our Savior's and Melo boast a long, proud history in Warren and Angus by having several generations of families being members of these congregations.

We are very proud of our heritage, history and church families.
